The firm's work is undertaken on a "time and materials" basis. That is, we charge for any time spent on the client's behalf, including: researching configuration issues; trouble-shooting problems; developing designs, plans, proposals, and estimates; meetings, letters, and phone calls; travel, etc.. If you request, we will prepare time and cost estimates for various system components. Any such time and cost estimates are strictly estimates, not fixed prices. If it takes more or (we hope) less time than estimated to meet your needs, we will charge for the actual time it takes to do the work correctly, not the estimated cost.
Our minimum labor billing increment is 15 minutes. Steve Moore's current billing rate is $150 per hour. Substantial discounts are available for work committed to and paid for in advance. More information about prepaid services discounts is available in the Standard Client Agreement discussed below on this page.
To introduce new clients to the firm, Vista offers a special fee discount promotion. Clients may receive 10 hours of computer consulting or other technical services for the price of 5 hours.
The offer is available both to organizations and individuals that have never used Vista's services before, as well as to existing or past clients that have not taken advantage of the offer within the past three years. However, this discount can not be combined with other promotional packages or discounts.
The non-refundable $750 fee must be prepaid prior to the start of the work and all 10 hours of services must be used within 60 days. To take advantage of this offer, just email or call Steve Moore at (707) 575-7400 to discuss your needs and make arrangements to get started.
For travel within Sonoma County, travel time is charged in both directions, but there are no mileage charges. For travel outside of Sonoma County, travel time is only charged in one direction, but mileage charges apply in both directions at the standard federal mileage rate. For all travel, other actual expenses, if any, (such as parking, bridge fare, air fare, lodging, etc.) are charged to the client at actual cost (with no markup).
Payment TermsVista has conservative credit terms in order to keep collection costs—and therefore costs to our clients—as low as possible. New clients pay fees in advance or at the time each service is rendered. Ongoing clients sometimes choose to set up a prepaid services ("retainer") account, because substantial discounts are available for work committed to and paid for in advance. By special agreement, established clients with good credit can be billed on Net 10 terms.
Vista provides detailed billings twice monthly for both prepaid and net 10 clients. This both keeps payment increments smaller and keeps the client better informed than monthly billings would.
A written client agreement is not normally necessary for clients who pay in advance or at the time each service is rendered. Without a written client agreement, our standard terms, including those set out on this web site, apply to the work we do. A written client agreement is available for all clients and is needed for those who wish to receive the billing discounts available for prepaid services, which are set out in the agreement.
