Vista Consulting Home Page Client Profile:  Auto Parts Supplier

This very focused, short-term assignment involved setting up a wide area network (WAN) link using a frame relay connection between two of the client's offices located across the country from each other.  Vista's consultant prepared the workstations on both ends and the server in the headquarters office for the WAN connection by setting up appropriate user ID, IP addressing, default gateway, and other routing entries.  He also worked with the data communications line vendor to configure and test the Cisco routers at both ends and connect them to the two LANs.  The consultant then configured and tested Windows 2000 Terminal Services for use across the WAN.  This gave employees at the subsidiary office access to the accounting system running on the Windows 2000 server in the headquarters office.
