This client had used Vista Training many times, over many years for computer short courses, so when their MIS Manager needed help with a data analysis project, he called Steve Moore at Vista. Steve undertook this project, which involved: taking data that had been exported from their accounting program into Excel spreadsheets, performing some clean up of the data in Excel, importing the cleaned up data into Microsoft Access database tables, and then performing various sorting, grouping, mathematical, and summarization operations on it. Finally the results were transferred back into Excel spreadsheets for transmission to the client. The operations were performed several times over a few months as the data changed and the client refined their exact requirements.
