Company Overview

Vista Consulting was founded in 1981 by Steve Moore and is based in Santa Rosa, California.  The firm provides computer hardware and software systems design, implementation, training, and support for a wide range of business systems, including:  local and wide area networks, Internet technologies, data backup and security systems, accounting, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other more specialized systems.

We are happy to help out with a quick fix in an emergency, but we are most effective when given overall responsibility for carefully and thoroughly planning out and implementing high-quality business solutions that maximize the long-term profitability of the entire organization.  In other words, we are better at "do it right and do it once" than we are at "quick and dirty".

Vista has done work for many of the area's largest and best-known organizations, but we have also served hundreds of smaller organizations and individuals as well.  Vista's clients have included:  the Exchange Bank, Fountaingrove Inn, Health Plan of the Redwoods, KRCB radio and TV, Lithocraft printing, Penzoil's Purolator Products/Servodyne subsidiary, Tegal Corporation, Tuttle's Pharmacies, Winzler & Kelley engineering, and Olema Ranch Campground.

Steve Moore remains the firm's principal consultant.  He started working with minicomputers in 1971 and with PCs at their inception in 1975, shortly after which he began doing computer consulting.  He has worked as an instructor at Heald College and as an instructor and administrator at Sonoma State University (SSU).  In 1987 and 1988 he served first as Training Manager then as General Manager at ComputerLand of Santa Rosa, prior to returning to computer consulting work late in 1988.  Since then he has worked full-time as Vista's principal consultant.  During the 2000-2001 academic year, he also served as the lead networking instructor at Santa Rosa Junior College.  In addition to his more than 20 years of full-time work in information technology, Steve also has prior work experience in the fields of:  public policy and administration, city planning, and real estate brokerage and development.  He has lived in Sonoma County throughout most of his life and graduated from Analy High School and SSU.
